On the 22nd of January Mariano Rivera was unanimously elected into the baseball Hall of Fame. An honor that has been unmatched in history with Ken Griffey Jr, Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan and Cal Ripken Jr are not even in the same category. However, there will be an even bigger honor for current Yankee pitchers happening this year in Tampa Fl during Spring Training.
On the 24th of January, Mariano went on MLB Network Radio and joined former big leaguer C.J. Nitkowski for an interview. Saying this:
“I’m going to start working with the New York Yankees and teaching pitching. So many guys throw hard but don’t have command…We need to teach these boys to pitch…Pitchers are getting away from pitching and are focused on throwing hard.” – Mariano Rivera on @MLBNetworkRadio. Thanks for that quote from C.J. Nitkowski and his Tweeter.
The Fuckin Jankees just had Mariano inducted. Another dude who played half his career in pinstripes get into the Hall (Mike Mussina). Signed Adam Ottavino to fortify one of baseballs best bullpens…. ever. Now they get Mariano to show all the relievers they have to become GREAT all the while letting them have a sneak peak in his mind. Unfuckinreal. Where’s the commish? Where’s the fairness community? Where’s ANYONE TO SAY NO.
You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make them drink. Which is the case here, but still. If they lend Mariano just 15-20 minutes of their attention, I’m sure they can go out with pinpoint command and throw like superman if he could pitch really well. Probably too strong but maybw he could be great. Irrelevant. But the Jankees are not.
I mean I’m happy for the guys that get to listen to Mariano but it’s such bullshit. They Rays hitters could be in trouble once the 6th inning comes but hopefully one day the Rays will have a Hall of Famer come out and show em how to pitch. That day will come but not soon. Stay tuned.
P.S. Joey Krehbial of the Arizona Diamondbacks is going to be great.
