Today, if you see Jordan Peele’s name attached then you instantly know that there is some potential. How about J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele executive producing a show together? That is now a reality as Lovecraft Country officially has a trailer and the word potential might be downplaying it. This has the looks of a very fun and intense thriller story with some history intertwined in between.
The plot is described as the following: “The series follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he joins up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams). This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.”
This will of course find a home on HBO which is very good news. Anything HBO green lights will usually have some great story telling and cinematography at the very least. Looking to air in August, look for more trailers and teasers around the corner. For now enjoy the first teaser trailer released and see if you think this is going to be as good as I think it will.
Thanks for reading and be nice to each other.
