By this time, you think all of the Rockies hitting stats are untouchable. Not saying there were roided out fuckers in the late 90’s and early 2000’s that were hitting balls 500 feet and then going to the weight room, doing 20 reps of 225 on the bench and then going out into the field the next half inning, no I’m not saying that at all.
Us people living in today’s times were lucky enough to be blessed with a little bit of history on Sunday.
Charlie Blackmon, AKA Chuck Nazty, AKA the man with the best haircut by FAR in baseball set an MLB record on Sunday, according the STATS, for most hits in a four game series with 15. Yes, 15 fucking hits in a four game series. In college, it took me probably like two weeks to get 15 hits. Yeah, I sucked but still, it’s unbelievable. On Saturday, Blackmon made it clear he was hot by making that his third game in a row with four hits. If you think you have ever seen the baseball well, well think again because Chuck Nazty just set a new standard for balling out.
During the series with the Padres, Blackmon went 15-24 (.625), with four (4) home runs, 10 RBI’s, nine (9) runs, and only two (2) strikeouts compared to ZERO walks. Literally did not WALK ONCE. As a leadoff hitter, your job is to set the table, get your team ready to dominate the day and Charlie was so locked him, the dude didn’t even THINK about taking a walk. During this four game span, Blackmon upped his average .20 points, pushed his OPS over 1.000 and rasied his OBP but .15 points. Crazy stuff.
On the season, Blackmon is now hitting .336/.385/.652 with 16 home runs, 47 RBI, 49 runs, and two steals on the year with an OPS of 1.037 that ranks 6th in all of baseball. I love the Rockies. They can hit the shit out of the ball every night whether they’re in Colorado or San Diego. Stay tuned for more Charlie Blackmon as the Rockies take on the Diamondbacks and try to stop the unstoppable that is Chuck Nazty. Thankee.
