Before Game 3 last night, I was prepared to watch Golden State win both at home, even without KD and Klay. I was prepared to mark it up as another title for the bad guys but that may not be what we get after Toronto’s great performance in Game 3. Leonard and Lowry took the opportunity and seized it as the Warriors were without two All Stars. Chef Curry ended up dropping a 47 burger but it was not quite enough. Maybe he now understands how LBJ felt these last two years… A depleted lineup and everything on your shoulders isn’t so easy.
Kawhi is a true superstar who overpowers his opponents with his strength and speed and it is a lot of fun to watch. People forget this dude already has a ring and a finals MVP under his belt. This man is on a mission, and even though he may be an alien, he is taking care of business on the court. After dropping 30 last night, it looks like he has plenty left in the tank. But can he keep it going and take Game 4 in Oakland? He will need Kyle Lowry and the supporting cast to give him the same intensity and focus that they did last night and I think they can get it done.
This is a very interesting Finals in a few ways. Number one, we obviously don’t have LBJ here this time. Number two, this may be the final season for this Warriors team to stay together and fight for another ship. If Kawhi wins, does he stay in Toronto? If Golden State wins, does KD and Klay stay in The Bay? Rumors have it that The Klaw has purchased property in Toronto, so that may be a little hint at the future. There is a lot on the line here and it has actually been very entertaining to watch.
Game 4 is tmrw night at 9 and it is a big one. If the Rap can steal this one, then they have two chances to close it down at home in front of Jurrasic Park. If the Warriors take this one at home, which I expect them to, then it is evened up and anyones series to take.
Stay tuned and be nice to each other.
