Elway Finds Another Gem In Flacco

Joe-Flacco

There’s the first domino to fall.

Wednesday the Broncos and the Ravens agree to a trade that will send former Baltimore Ravens ELITE quarterback Joe Flacco to the Broncos for unknown compensation at the moment. With this move, it now means the ERA of Lamar Jackson will now be taking over Baltimore. The deal will not be official until March 13th which is when the new year of the league begins.

I think the craziest part of this whole ordeal is the Broncos take Paxton Lynch in the 2016 draft in the FIRST round!! Think about that now. Unreal that John Elway, one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game of football, saw something he liked in a guy who was cut within two years.

THEN, we have Elway go out and sign Case Keenum, who had an unbelievable year with the Vikings 2017, sign Keenum to a contract worst $36 million over two years last season and Keenum ends up with 15 interceptions, which were tied for second most in the league last season and not to mention he only averaged 6.6 yards per attempt last year, finishing 29th only in front of Joe Flacco, go figure, Alex Smith, and rookies Josh Allen and Josh Rosen.

It really is getting to the point that Elway might be a little nervous hiring someone with a little bit of skill to overtake his legacy. The Broncos have not yet released Keenum so they do make a dynamic duo as of right now. NFL world better watch out. An even weirder scenario playing out is the Broncos have the number 10 overall pick in this upcoming draft. Are they going to lock up Flacco for a few years and waste time? Or are they going to use Flacco as more of a mentor to the next young guy? Either way, this will be a bit of a weird off-season here for the Broncos as  each year they are starting to look scarier and scarier.

Not saying Elway isn’t doing his job as good as he is capable, but this is beginning to look strange. Although he is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, maybe the front office job isn’t cut out for him. Just keep an eye or ear open during the off-season for the Broncos next move. Thank you

  1. I’ll be honest, I’ve never considered Flacco to be an elite QB, not even during the Ravens Super Bowl run in 2013. However, I do think that he has the potential to do great things in Denver and think he will be a good fit with them.

    • Flacco was NEVER elite. I added that as a bit of a joke but my sense of humor is pretty shitty so I apologize for the mix up. I couldn’t tell you if he will fare any btter in Denver now. All I know is that he can smoke weed legally and that’s a dub within itself.
