Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an unpredictable roller coaster ride of color, sound, and story like nothing that has ever been put to screen. I had reservations about sitting through two hours of an animation style I was unfamiliar with, but I am so glad I did.

Beneath the stunning comic book visuals, self-deprecating satire, and bizarre story line is an emotional backbone that had me truly empathizing with the animated characters on screen.

Did I mention Nicholas Cage is in this movie?
