“Flavorful IPA that pairs great with the binge-worthy Netflix western mini-series, Godless.”
Go West! IPA: 3.5 out of 5
I’ve been reading about the psychological component of flavor. Flavor is a combination of taste, aroma, color, clarity, texture, and psychology. Flavor is subjective. If you’re in a bad mood or have had a bad experience with a similar smell or taste it will negatively affect the flavor of your beer. This is why professional tasting panels actually discuss their mood, thoughts, and state of mind as well as the taste, smell, etc. of whichever beer they are sampling. I found this to be very exciting, as I am now convinced that beer can actually be paired with movies and television.
Doesn’t drinking a thick sweet stout sound like an amazing choice while watching the cold, brutal battles beyond the wall in Game of Thrones? Consider enjoying a light, fruity lager while watching the hilarious Hawaiian hijinks in Forgetting Sarah Marshall! How about the challenging dry hopped taste of Go West! IPA while watching the dusty western Netflix drama, Godless? Regarding the latter, I can tell you first hand that it does indeed pair well.
Anchor Brewing is a legendary brewery. It is considered one of Forefathers of the American craft brewing movement. I will be writing more about them in the future, but for now I will simply recommend a google.
