“Clean, hoppy, crisp IPA with a golden hue. I dig it.”
Lagunitas IPA: 3.5 out of 5
This one hit the spot for me. My wife and I just finished an awesome sushi dinner, but the only beer on the menu I hadn’t tried was Kirin Light. As you will read in my review of that beer, it was basically flavorless.
We walked across the parking lot from the sushi restaurant to the movie theater on what us Floridians would consider a cold night, probably somewhere in the 50s. So with that context in mind nothing sounded better than cozying up to watch a movie with a flavorful IPA, so I ordered the Lagunitas and like I said, it just hit the spot.
According to wiki:
“The Lagunitas Brewing Company is a brewery founded in 1993 in Lagunitas, California. The company is completely owned by Heineken International, [2] and it is known for iconoclastic interpretations of traditional beer styles, and irreverent descriptive text and stories on its packaging. Lagunitas Brewing was the fifth top-selling craft brewery in the U.S. in 2014.”
So, by writing this blog I am just now finding out that this brewing company is owned by Heineken! Slightly disappointing in a way because it is always more fun and interesting to discover cool little brewing companies, but none the less this was a good beer that I do recommend.
