“Easy to drink, but lacks in flavor. Nothing exciting or challenging about it.”
Kirin Light: 2 out of 5
Kirin Company dates its origins back to 1885 in Japan. They hire German brewers to make their beer. It tastes like a Bud Light, but with even less flavor. If you are looking for something to put in your funnel this would be a great choice.
I ordered this one while out for date night with the wife. We sat down at a sushi bar and I immediately began searching for a drink list. Aha, it says I need to ask my server for the drink menu. “Could I have the beer list please?” I asked. “I know it says that, but there is no beer list. Basically we have Kirin Light, Sapporo, Bud Light, and Budweiser.” she replied. Yikes.
So, if you want to look cultured and claim you are a Japanese beer fan, but don’t like much outside of your popular American lagers, this is the one for you!
