Heil HopDevil! I hope they serve this beer in hell. Good flavor with a hoppy ending.
HopDevil IPA: 3.5 out of 5
For the record, that is by far my punniest review quote. I hope you appreciate that…
This was a great beer. Slightly challenging in a very rewarding way. Clean initial taste with herbal, spicy notes and a hoppy finish. Loved the name and the label design as well. Enjoyed this while watching Nocturnal Animals with my wife on a cozy night in. Highly recommended.
Victory Brewing Co., like so many craft breweries, has one of those feel good origin stories:
“Victory Brewing Company started on a school bus in 1973 when fifth-graders Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski stepped aboard, on their way to a new school.”
As adults, the two of them became home brewers while working their corporate day jobs, competing to see who could create a better beer. Eventually, they took a leap of faith, quit their jobs, and began obsessively studying German methods of brewing. After years of apprenticing, learning the business, and even getting degrees in brewing they founded the Victory Brewing Company.
